About Me

I am a software engineer, mainly focused on network applications, networking, protocol stacks and embedded systems. My favourite language is C, although I have a fair knowledge of C++, Java, JavaScript and PHP.

My favourite operating system is GNU/Linux. Traditionally, I have been using Red Hat products and derivatives for both server environments and my own desktop environment. My day-to-day productivity platform is Cinnamon desktop on top of Fedora. My favourite text editor is vim, although I find eclipse IDE more productive for very large projects with hundreds or thousands of files.

I started using computers at a very early age. By the time I went to high school, I was already sure I wanted to make a career in software engineering. I studied computer science in high school (Cantemir-Vodă National College, Bucharest, Romania) and at the university (Politehnica University of Bucharest, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science, Bucharest, Romania). I have a bachelor degree in computer science.

I started working in IT in 2000, as a junior web programmer at an ISP in Bucharest, Romania. Throughout my career, I have worked on many projects in a wide variety of fields: CRM software, telephony billing systems, VoIP platforms, Z-Wave and ZigBee embedded devices, LTE protocol stack software, embedded Linux systems and many more.
